Behind the smooth and organic sound of Swiss Mafia lies a decade of collaboration between two friends who grew up together by the shores of Lake Leman in Switzerland: BALTHAZARD and Jon leKole. The pair met in 2013 and started their musical journey as musicians playing Jazz, Soul and Rock. They built their perception of the world through trips across multiple continents, playing music while meeting passionate people from countless backgrounds and cultures.
BALTHAZARD is a drummer, DJ and producer whose artist project evolved towards 80s-inspired dance music, collaborating with many vocalists and putting together unique live performances, a high-energy blend of House, Pop and Disco. Jon leKole’s voice perfectly fits the soulful mix of R&B and Hip Hop that defines his own artist project, tainted by his feel for classical guitar, a defining aesthetic of the Swiss Mafia sound. Today, after ten years spent shaping their craft and pushing each other to give life to their biggest dreams, they are based in West London. In their studio, so many stories and moments birthed special songs, relationships with artists, and, ultimately, the sought-after Swiss Mafia sound, inspired by Soulful Hip Hop, UK Drill, Jazz, and R&B.
It's a most meaningful reunion for the duo to work on their upcoming project, a way to capture some of these special moments. BALTHAZARD & Jon leKole moved from Switzerland to London with high hopes and dreams of leaving their mark on music. The duo tells a story through their production, songwriting and the voices of some of their closest collaborators. A story of persistency, respect, love, dreams and nightmares, told in a most soulful and unapologetic manner, true to their identity as musicians and human beings.
