From an early age, Jon leKole found solace in the world of music. Growing up in Switzerland while surrounded by American culture, leKole’s international background laid the foundation for the unique sound that would define his artistic identity. Borrowing from the variety of genres he grew up listening to, ranging from Hip Hop, Classical, Jazz and Funk, Jon leKole’s music aims to be truthful and sincere, with soulfulness at its core.
The artist started his musical journey at an early age, discovering the guitar at 5 years old, and picking up songwriting at the age of 15. After playing in various bands and touring the world as a live musician, Jon entered the world of production with Swiss Mafia, a duo he founded alongside BALTHAZARD, allowing them to work with various rappers and songwriters based in London and Canada. Together, their music blends soulful chords and hard-hitting drums, heavily inspired by the likes of Anderson .Paak and J. Cole.
Now based in London, Jon leKole draws inspiration from the English Capital to develop and work on his craft, while still working closely with a variety of artists as a songwriter and producer. His first official appearance “Back To Me” is the fruit of such a collaboration with South London-based community Tracks On Tap. The track features verses from Righteous Reck on an instrumental signed by his long-lasting collaborator BALTHAZARD and serves as a tribute to 2000s RnB and Hip Hop, an era of music essential to his sonic upbringing.
